The Amir Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at Nigeria, Alhaji (Barr) And Azeez F. Alatoye congratulates the new President of the Nigerian Guild of Editors (NGE), Mr Mustapha Isah on his recent election as the President of the body.
Alatoye made this greeting during the International Press Conference of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at held of the 1st of December, 2019. The press conference was held as part of the preparation for the 67th Annual convention of the Jama’at. The convention is scheduled to hold from Friday 20th December to Sunday 22nd December at the Organisation’s camp site, Ilaro Owode road, Ogun state.
Alatoye greeted Isah and also pray that God Almighty be with him and grant him the required wisdom to carry out his duties as president.
Alatoye siad, “let me use this unique opportunity to congratulate Mr. Mustapha Isah, the new President Nigerian Guild of Editors. The Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at pray to Almighty Allah to give him wisdom and good health to accomplish the tasks ahead.”
Isah was elected president at the Nigerian Guild of Editors’ election held on the 8th of November, 2019 at the Editor’s house, Ikeja Lagos.
Isah occupied the position that was left vacant after the appointment of former President, Mrs Funke Egbemode as Commissioner for Information and Civic Orientation by the Osun state Governor.
The election which was held in line with the provision of the body’s constitution (Article 13(4)) saw Mustapha elected as the President as conducted by the NGE’s Electoral College.
Mustapha Isah is a graduate of History from Bendel State University, now Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma. He is currently the Head of News, Silverbird TV and Rhythm 93.7fm, Lagos. Isah started his journalism career with the defunct Tempo Magazine during the military era in the country.
Meanwhile, in stating the functions of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at in Nigeria, Alatoye said, ‘Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat Nigeria since its inception in 1916 has been in the forefront of religious tolerance, humanitarian services in the areas of education, health, and general wellbeing. “We are a pioneer in the areas of education and health services in Nigeria,” Alatoye added.
