U.C.H Chief Medical Director lauds Muslim Youth Group for Donating Medical Equipments

The Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Organization, Oyo State Chapter popularly known as Majlis Khuddam Ahmadiyya have extended it’s hand of charity to the University College Hospital,U.C.H Ibadan with the donation of some state of the art equipment for patient use. This was done alongside a meeting with the CMD Prof. Jesse Otegbayo at the CMD’s conference room on recently.
The humanitarian act is not the first on the side of the vibrant muslim youth group who at all times are at the forefront of serving humanity to complement their religious values.
Receiving the items, the Chief Medical Director, Prof. Jesse Otegbayo who is not just a CMD but an astute professor of medicine and an administrator known worldwide praised the philantropic gesture noting that Government can not do it alone, funding of health sector needs timely donations from people. While appreciating the delegation, the C.M.D said “your name rings a bell all the time. I know you like a palm on my hand. So, thanks for helping the management to achieve their goals” A very few people are on the health insurance scheme and donations like this will help bridge government funding gaps. He applauded the organization’s agelong blood donation exercise of about four (4) decades with constistency, at least 3 times a year. He said “your voluntary blood donation immesurably saves lives and affects humanity positively”. Again i extend my warm welcome and appreciate your gestures. On behalf of management, staff and students, we appreciate you for past years, particularly this time for donating such beneficial equipments, he added.

While recalling the organization’s long standing blood donation exercise to the hospital, Prof. AbdurRahman Abdullahi of the Babcock university said “considering the importance of UCH as a tertiary healthcare provider, our youth members have embraced the quaterly blood donation drive to the hospital and have adopted it as a tradition” Prof. Abdullahi therefore enjoined the leadership of the blood bank to grant the donors quicker attention whenever they come for the exercise.

Prof. Abdullahi also seeked the medium to call on multitude of wealthy Nigerians to embrace the tradition of donating, so that our society would be better of. “when expect reward solely from God, then you will love to do”, he added

In an interview with our correspondence, Hussein Muftau, the State president of the group mentioned the equipments donated as follows:
one Suction Machine (double jar), one Suction Machine (single jar), one Neutralizer, one Centrifuge Machine, and two Sphygmomanometer.
He thereby charged other youths group and individuals to follow suit and inculcate activities targeted at national development. We have done this in a bid to practically demonstrate one of the core teachings of Islam and in conformity with the motto of the global Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, ‘Love for all, Hatred for None’

In company of the CMD were the UCH Director of Administration , Mr Stephen Olubusayo Oladejo, Mrs Owolabi of the Internal Audit Department, Mr Alao, The Personal Assistant to the CMD, Mr Oyedele, Head of Procurement, Alh. Salawu among others.
