The national president of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at in Nigeria, Alh (Barr) Abd Azeez Alatoye has disclosed that the Muslim group will be building a world class University of Technology, first of its kind in Africa in Ikirun, State of Osun.
He made this disclosure during a visit to the Governor of the State, Gboyega Oyetola in the state House in Osun.
Alatoye said ” Ahmadiyya is a worldwide religious body under the leadership of one Khalifah and has her International Headquarters in the United Kingdom.
“The Nigeria Jama’at has received the blessings of His Holiness, Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad, on the commencement of the University and we are set to start as soon as possible.
“We have been at the fore front of Islamic and secular education in the country and this University is a testament. We will set up a world class University where moral and sound knowledge will be recieved by all attendees.”
His his response, the Governor appreciated the President for the visit and also thanked him for considering his state as the location of the University. The governor also expressed his appreciation as he later showed on his Twitter handle
” Earlier today too, I received a delegation from the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at, Nigeria. Very soon will be having another private University in the State of Osun, courtesy of Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at. It will be the first in Africa. Osun ti n Dara”
In the company of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at President were former President of the Jama’at, Dr Mashood Adenrele Fashola, the Missionay-in-charge of the Jama’at in Nigeria, Afzal Abd Rauf and other dignitaries of the Jama’at.
